New: Thousand Trails Permanent Installation

Feb 1, 2016 | Blog

We are excited to reveal a unique project we recently completed, a permanent installation for Thousand Trails. Thousand Trails, a provider of membership campgrounds and RV parks with resort style amenities, came to us looking for an installation that would perfectly encapsulate their mission to get community members to appreciate the peaceful and beautiful experience you will find at one of their preserve’s. Lazydays in Seffner, Florida is home to the installation which recently had its grand opening.

LazyDays was looking to feature their newest products and accessories so our goal was to design the install in a way that would highlight everything a camper would need in an organized and easy to navigate manner. We worked in conjunction with Equity Lifestyle Properties, the leading operator of RV Resorts and Campgrounds in North America, to create different “zones” within the 20×20 space, all while keeping the theme rustic and in line with the outdoors. To build out the different parts of the room, we did the following:

  • Flooring: We used particle board which we stained a rich brown for a flavor of the earth combined with synthetic grass (actual replica of real grass, but no watering necessary!)
  • Walls: Keeping the floor in mind and wanting things to stay cohesive, we used reclaimed barn wood for the walls and gave random boards a “weathered look” with contrasting stain over the raw finish
  • Ceiling: To create the feeling of being outdoors, we created a beautiful sky scene by using a printed tile pattern which is seen overhead through the whole space
  • Tech: To give off the feeling of stepping into different camping locations, we created an 80” video wall where images of each locations were showcased so the customers could experience the feeling of being transported to another place
  • Vinyl: On one full wall, we applied a vinyl application of a large-format graphic map which detailed the locations of their unique campsites
  • Decor: We worked with a team who creates detailed, lifelike trees and shrubs, some topped with faux birds to further bring the outdoors to life
  • Entrance: We used illuminated raised letters and stone columns to frame the inviting front entrance
  • Lead Retrieval: To help the client extract customer information for future marketing, we implemented a green screen photo booth which allowed people to snap a fun photo, choosing the LazyDays location of their choice as their background. With their contact info required to send the photo, this was a great interactive tool for both parties.

What do you think of the install?
