At Katherine Frank Creative, the planning process for designing a new booth is a great way to tap into our creative minds. The team at Sexy Hair is always looking for new ways for us to think outside the box and be our true creative selves. For the Ulta Field Leadership Conference 2024, Sexy Hair wanted to have an authentic interactive experience for the attendees. Attendees for this particular event receive a lot of gratis at each booth they visit. So, how did Sexy Hair and KFC make it a memorable one? We asked them to “Ring for Volume”!

Rendering

Sexy Hair showed us an inspiration video from a wedding reception. In it, guests approach a wall, ring a bell, and magically, a glass of champagne is handed to them through the wall with a gloved hand. Our designers took this concept and made it uniquely Sexy Hair.

The booth space for this show was 10’ x 20’; we needed to make the wall large enough to be impactful yet keep enough room for attendees to approach and speak with the booth representatives. We used the signature STAR from their logo as the opening for the gloved hand and ‘Sexy Red’ to finish off the wall so everything about it looked like classic Sexy Hair.

After a couple of renditions and notes from the client, we completed the design using a neon sign that read: Ring for Volume. We also added strip lighting on the perimeters and a beautiful model image, making the space come together nicely.

Realization

Seeing the wall being built was a fun process! Taking an idea and making it reality never gets old. To cover the star holes, we added black stretch fabric and a black rope over the top of the wall that was tied to bells behind the wall.

Attendees happily approach the wall, ring the bell, watch a gloved hand move through the star, and hand them their gratis. The whole team at Katherine Frank Creative helped make this request a reality—from design to installation and even participating in ringing the bell!
